Jason Mraz and the curbside prophets tour
Featuring Makana, Raul Midon, Jen Lowe, and DJ Bob Necksnapp
June 14, 2004
Zellerback Auditorium, Berkeley, California

THANK YOU JASON!

(and the three friends of Makana/Poi who gave me the backstage pass)

Just when I thought I was going to be swept under by the tidal wave of jaded indie hipsters, along comes Jason Mraz and "Batman, the movie, the ride". What can I say about this brilliant, witty, clever, generous man? Go see him live and find out for yourself. His performance is unlike anything you have ever seen. His voice filled the symphony hall, his goofy yet sincere onstage banter made us all laugh and relax and his songs tumbled from playful to revelatory. He mixed new songs with old ones, changing lyrics, constantly showing off his skills as a wordsmith. The musicians on his tour were equally stunning. Knowing that he was playing on my campus made me happy. I expected nothing more than maybe to see him smile and instead I got the world. Thank you Jason. You do your zany thing and I'll do my crazy mercury thing and maybe one day we'll meet again.
