This show was a hard lesson in a simple fact: you can't shoot through smoke.
Cigarette smoke filled the club and my shots. Almost every photo I took that night has smoke blurring the edges, dulling the colors. The greatest lens can't solve the problem of smoke. Damn, get a better ventilation system! Please! The sound is better - now fix the smoke!

So where does that leave us? With the reminder to get CLOSE to the stage, avoid cigarette smoke, and be more assertive.
I have a gorgeous shot of Philip that was in my head, but I had to move before I could get it on film. I was standing above and beside him, as a beautiful orange glow spread across his back from the lighting. But I moved. Damn. Next time.

Other thoughts: Murry is amazing and a gentleman to everyone he meets. We all love Murry. It's true.
